This has increased the shipping costs for the Cottontail Cottages and Hopper Hideaways significantly. I have been in touch with both UPS and FedEx about getting reduced prices, but no luck so far. I will be trying different packaging options to reduce the size of the package which will hopefully help.
I apologize for the high shipping costs, and am doing what I can to keep them as low as possible. However, as a small business, I'm limited in my negotiation power with the carriers.
Note that the shipping costs do not go up dramatically with the numbers of Cottages/Hideaways ordered, so in the long run, it's more cost-effective to order multiple quantities at once.
Orders are normally shipped within 2 business days and sent via UPS Ground. See map at bottom of page for a UPS time-in-transit map to estimate how long your order will take to reach you.
This website is set up for orders within the continental United States only; additional charges will be added after shipping for orders to Alaska and Hawaii based on actual shipping costs. Sorry, we are unable to ship internationally or to US military addresses. However, several of the online retailers on the Cottontail Cottage page do ship these items internationally.
A larger order will only slightly increase your shipping costs (see below); therefore, it is cost effective to increase the size of your order.
Note: We do not make money off of shipping costs. The website is set up to calculate shipping based on the total cost of the order. In some cases, especially to orders on the East Coast and to rural addresses, we lose money on shipping. The shipping costs are based on average costs for all orders, no matter where they're being shipped.
Please be sure to enter your full address when placing your order, including suite/apartment number. If any information is incorrect or missing which requires a correction with UPS, Cats & Rabbits & More is charged $11 by UPS to make that correction on top of regular shipping charges. We have the right to charge that additional fee back to the customer.
