Bunny of the Week
Sapphire
Sapphire is a year and a half old white New Zealand spayed bunny girl. She carries her ears like a Lop because she thinks this is very fancy. She has a great sense of humor and loves to strike elegant poses and be admired. Sapphire is playful and would love to be your best bunny friend. She does not love to be held but loves a good cheek rub. She would do well with cats and gentle dogs and gentle children who prefer to sit with her on the floor and pet her, rather than hold her.
Sapphire's home is at the Escondido Humane Society & SPCA, 3450 East Valley Parkway, Escondido, CA 92027, (760) 888-2247. However, she is currently in foster care. For more information about Sapphire, please contact her foster mom Jenny at jmclaug@prodigy.net.

~ February is National "Adopt a Rescued Rabbit" Month.
Please visit your local shelter or rescue to give a "forever" home to a rabbit who deserves a second chance at love.
Why Adopt a Rabbit?
Rabbits make wonderful indoor companions! They can be litterbox trained, can coexist happily with non-aggressive cats & dogs, and can live 10 years or longer. As indoor companion animals, they provide affection and lots of laughs with their silly antics and curious nature. They are more social, healthier, and happier when they are spayed or neutered. They also thrive best with daily exercise, affection and companionship. There are many rabbits throughout Southern California looking for loving homes. SAN DIEGO HOUSE RABBIT SOCIETY
Our next adoption day is Sunday, March 28
When adopting from SDHRS you save two rabbits; you not only give an abandoned rabbit a permanent home, you also make room in foster care for HRS to take in another bunny from a shelter - helping to prevent euthanasia of adoptable rabbits. All HRS foster rabbits are spayed or neutered, and litterbox trained.
HRS Foster Rabbits: March's featured rabbit is Skyler. Skyler is a sweet little guy who is looking for a loving home. Click here to see more adoptable rabbits in HRS foster care. We will be happy to help you find just the right rabbit companion for you. Our next adoption day is Sunday, March 28. Potential adopters must be screened in advance of adoption days. See our Adoption Guidelines and complete our Adoption Application. To learn more, contact adopt@sandiegorabbits.org.

San Diego House Rabbit Society (SDHRS) is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization created to help abandoned domestic rabbits. We support local shelters by helping them care for and find homes for their rabbits. |

Cats & Rabbits & More supports the efforts of rescue groups and shelters through this website. In particular, we are happy to help the smaller rescuers (who do not have the same resources as larger groups) publicize their adoptable animals at no cost to them, and we help publicize smaller animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs and rats which don't typically get as much publicity as dogs and cats. Sales of products through the website help us to cover our expenses, and we are happy to make annual donations to animal rescue groups.
