PETCO Rabbit Adoptions

The following rabbits can be seen at local PETCO stores, and are available for adoption through their respective shelters or rescue organizations.  Please note the contact information listed at
the bottom of each rabbit's description.

It is HIGHLY recommended that you house your new rabbit indoors. Rabbits are prey animals and San Diego County is home to many predator animals such as hawks, owls, coyotes, raccoons, foxes and bob cats, all of which kill small animals left outside (even rabbits kept in a cage or hutch). Wet or hot weather and parasites such as fleas, flies, and mosquitoes also can be deadly to rabbits. You can easily house your rabbit indoors and make him a part of your family.  He will live a much longer and healthier life, and you will enjoy him so much more.  Learn more about housing your bunny indoors. Mocha is an elegant and dainty girl. Her coat is chocolate brown with rich black highlights. Mocha was found as a stray and would love to go home and snuggle with a wonderful family. She is gentle and friendly and enjoys her pets. Mocha is about 10 months old and has been spayed. Her ID no. is 13595.

Mocha is available for adoption at the Escondido PETCO, 1000 West Valley Parkway, Escondido (just off the I-15 freeway and Valley Parkway). Stop by the Escondido PETCO store to complete an adoption application.  Learn more about Mocha by emailing Jenny at jmclaug@prodigy.net.

Marie is a pretty lop girl, who would love a quiet family that gives her a lot of attention. Marie is a lop mix girl, about 6lbs and about 2 years old. She has been spayed and is learning to use her litter box. She's excited about finding a family who will give her a safe, indoor home where she will be loved. Marie would love to have an x-pen house, like the one shown above. You can see them at Pen Living. They really are the best option for rabbits to give them the most room for the least expense.

Marie is a featured bunny at the Broadway PETCO in Chula Vista.  She is from the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility and can be adopted through contacting the store manager at the Broadway PETCO.  Stop by to see Marie!  Adoption application and fee required. ** ADOPTED 8.1.07 **

Apollo is a handsome little guy, needing an experienced bunny home.  This little guy is Apollo, a Lion Head bunny about 6 months old.  Apollo loves attention and pets, but is not comfortable being held.  He loves his run time and playing in the Cottontail Cottage.  He's an active boy and sometimes will try to jump right out of the pen!  Apollo would do best in an experienced bunny home, with a family who has had a bunny in the past. He may do okay with children over 10 years old, but is not suitable for young children.  Smaller bunnies can be more difficult to hold and a bit more cranky in temperament, so are not a good match for children.  Apollo will make a great companion to someone who gives him plenty of attention and let's him move at his own speed when it comes to making friends.  Apollo is ID #11705.

Apollo can be seen at the Carmel Mountain PETCO store (11160 Rancho Carmel Drive, San Diego) where he is available for adoption through the Escondido Humane Society.  Stop by to meet Apollo and to complete a questionnaire if you are interested in adopting.  To learn more about Apollo, email Jenny at jmclaug@prodigy.net** ADOPTED 6.25.07 **

Hocus & Pocus are darling boys who want some new friends to play with. Have you been considered adding a rabbit companion to your home? These bonded brothers are Mini Lop boys, about 1 1/2 years old, who adore each other and must be adopted together. Hocus & Pocus do everything together; bask in the sun, munch on hay, devour fresh greens and jump on and play in the Cottontail Cottage. They are buddies in everything they do. Both boys are neutered, good with their litter box, and love to run and play. Hocus, the smaller bunny on the right, is the more outgoing of the two. Pocus, on the left, prefers to let his brother be the 'front man.'  Both are a little shy at first, but warm up to gentle attention. They would do great in a home with well-behaved children over 8 years old. White bunnies like these need to live indoors where they are safe from the sun and from predators. The x-pen housing setup is a perfect one for them. Learn more about these two handsome bunny boys by visiting the Escondido Humane Society. Hocus's ID no. is 5267 and Pocus's ID no. is 5259. Many thanks to Jen from Fuzzle.info for Hocus & Pocus' great new photo.

Nibbles is a handsome young adult bunny who is friendly and sweet. She loves attention and getting pets. Nibbles enjoys her run time and playing with toys. She might make a good companion to your neutered bunny boy, and would be great as the indoor companion to a family of her own. Nibbles is litter box trained and ready for her new family.  ** ADOPTED 7.2.07 **

Nibbles is available for adoption at the Poway PETCO store, 13375 Poway Road (corner of Poway & Community Roads).  Stop by the Poway PETCO store to complete an adoption application.  Learn more about Nibbles by emaling Jenny at jmclaug@prodigy.net.

Elena is a sweet white with brown 1 year old female bunny. She is very social and loves attention! She is a volunteer favorite; easy to handle and fun to interact with at play time.  Elena arrived at the shelter as a stray with Merlin above. They were abandoned at a high school. She is a good girl and is looking for a wonderful stable home. Elena has been spayed and is ready for her new home! She might do well with gentle children or as a companion to a sweet bunny boy. Her ID no. is 14668.
