It is HIGHLY recommended that you house your new rabbit indoors. Rabbits are prey animals and San Diego County is home to many predator animals such as hawks, owls, coyotes, raccoons, foxes and bob cats, all of which kill small animals left outside (even rabbits kept in a cage or hutch). Wet or hot weather and parasites such as fleas, flies, and mosquitoes also can be deadly to rabbits. You can easily house your rabbit indoors and make him a part of your family.  He will live a much longer and healthier life, and you will enjoy him so much more.  Learn more about housing your bunny indoors. Oliver and Kai

Oliver a neutered male and Kai a spayed female are a bonded pair of small rabbits. Both are approximately 2 years old. When they were relinquished to Wee Companions Oliver was very underweight, but since coming to us has gained weight and is now in very good health. They are a little shy at first, but after some kindness and patience they can be very sweet. They would do best in an adult home without cats or dogs. They are very afraid of dogs and will not do well with them.  A quiet indoor home with an x-pen is best for them. They love to run around the house and play in a cottontail cottage or any box.  Ollie and Kai are very good with the litterbox, but too much noise cause them to be fearful and can be messy.  Once in a permanent home they will become more confident and be a part of the family. If you are interested in knowing more about Oliver and Kai, please contact us at weecompanions@aol.com.

Skipton and Sassy

Skipton, male brown rex and Sassy, black female were part of a rescue involving the Petco Foundation and Wee Companions. Skipton is a neutered male and Sassy is a spayed female that want to find a forever home where they will feel safe and loved. They want to be inside the home so that they will feel like part of the family.  Since they are a bonded pair, they must be adopted and kept together. Both are very sweet and loving and learning to be good with the litterbox.

Amber

Amber is a beautiful spayed girl approximately 1 year old. She is very sweet and loves to be petted. She is most comfortable in an indoor environment and likes to have plenty room to run, jump and play. She has been around cats and small dogs and doesn't seem to mind them being around. Older children over age 8 may be best... for her, younger children may be ok but with adult supervision.
She is very good with her litterbox. While she is content to live on her own, she is very bondable to a neutered male. Amber would do well in an X-pen inside the home. This beautiful, sweet girl needs a "forever" home. She'll do great with an adult family or one with well-behaved children.
She is located at the Mission Gorge Petco store located at
10410 Friars Road, San Diego, CA. If you think she may be right for your family, please come by the store to see her.
9745 Mission Gorge Road, Santee, CA

Brownie

Brownie was part of a rescue involving the Petco Foundation and Wee Companions. Brownie is a neutered male that wants to find a forever home where he will feel safe and be well taken care of. He wants to be inside the home so that he will feel like part of the family, giving him the security he needs and deserves. He has a very sweet and gentle nature. Brownie is very good with his litterbox and is good with children. He will need to have lots of play time when he is not home in his x-pen.

Midnight

Midnight is a sweet neutered male and is approximately 1 year old. He is very gentle and loves to be petted. Also, he is most comfortable in an indoor environment and likes to have plenty room to run, jump and play. He has been around cats and small dogs and doesn't seem to mind them being around. Older children over age 8 may be best for him, younger children may be ok but with adult supervision.

He is very good with his litterbox. While he is content to live on his own, he is very bondable to a spayed  female. Midnight would do well in an X-pen inside the home. This beautiful, sweet  boy needs a "forever" home. He'll do great with an adult family or one with well-behaved children.

Bunnies who have been adopted.

Dotty

Adopted--Dotty is a spayed female rex rabbit about 2 years old that needs lots of love and attention. She was relinquished to a local Shelter about a year ago. Dotty would be best suited to a home that can provide lots of “mental stimulation”. She is a very curious girl with lots of personality and if ignored, can become quite destructive. She loves to interact with people as well as to play and run, so she will need to have plenty of space. The ideal home would be indoors in an X-pen with lots of toys and because she loves to jump, may need a lid. When she comes out to play Dotty would love to have a Cottontail Cottage along with things to jump and chew on.  She is very good with her litterbox. Dotty would not be the best choice for a first time rabbit owner, but would be a great addition to a home with other rabbits and maybe a companion to a bunny boy. Dotty is good with small dogs and children.
