Unwanted Rabbit?
LBRR is not a shelter. We are a network of foster homes that can only take in rabbits on a space-available basis. If you have a rabbit you cannot keep please bring the bunny to your nearest shelter. You can also "Google" rabbit rescue groups in your area, or look for rescue groups on Facebook, which has a very active rescue community. If you would like to find the rabbit a home on your own, read
THIS

Email info@luckybunnies.org for information about adoption or volunteering.

Tip: Does Your Rabbit Look Like This?

As the seasons shift, and temperatures change, your bunny may shed and molt. It's important to brush or comb away your rabbit's loose fur so that they don't ingest too much when they groom. You can even gently pluck the loose bits with your fingers and finish with a light combing.

According to Judith Pierce, president of San Diego House Rabbit Society, you can also add ground flax seed to your bunny's diet. Flax seed is high in Omega 3 oils which offer health benefits to rabbits. Flax is good for inflammation of the joints (if your rabbit is older), keeps fur shiny and healthy looking, and may help manage shedding.

Get ground flax seed at places like Henry’s, Trader Joes, or even Costco.  We like organic brands like Spectrum.  Just sprinkle about ¼ teaspoon of ground flax seed over bunny’s pellets or green salad.  It has a nice “nutty” flavor with a little crunch and most bunnies love it.  Light or dark seeds are fine. Whichever you prefer (put it in your cereal osalad; it’s good for you too!).
