It is HIGHLY recommended that you house your new rabbit indoors. Rabbits are prey animals and San Diego County is home to many predator animals such as hawks, owls, coyotes, raccoons, foxes and bob cats, all of which kill small animals left outside (even rabbits kept in a cage or hutch). Wet or hot weather and parasites such as fleas, flies, and mosquitoes also can be deadly to rabbits. You can easily house your rabbit indoors and make him a part of your family. He will live a much longer and healthier life, and you will enjoy him so much more. Learn more about housing your bunny indoors: IndoorBunnyHousing

If you are considering adopting but never had the wonderful experience of owning a house rabbit, please go to www.sandiegorabbits.org for lots of information about the care of these adorable animals.

Tierra is a super sweet lionhead rabbit, and a baby herself about 5 months old. She is calm and sweet and very easy to hold. She will be available for adoption after the babies are weaned and she is spayed. The babies will be ready for adoption after February 18th.

Billy the Engineer Bunny is extremely intelligent, and is very good at figuring things out -- hence his nickname. He was born around May 2011 and will stay fairly small. His previous foster mom has the following to say about him:
To keep my foster bunnies entertained, I often hide little treats (bunny pellets, a raisin, or veggies) inside or underneath toys such as cardboard boxes and tubes. When he was little and still living with his siblings, Billy was always the first to figure out how to get at the food. He loves to sit on top of things and survey his surroundings. He also loves to run at full speed on a smooth surface and then slide. He does not really enjoy being held or pet, but will always come see what's going on. He needs lots of toys to keep him entertained -- visit this website for inspiration: www.squidoo.com/homemade_rabbit_toys
Billy can easily jump out of an exercise pen, as well as lift it up and go underneath it to escape. You could use a cage to keep him safe while you're gone, or cover and weigh down an exercise pen so he can have more room to play. This little guy would be a great companion for someone who loves to tinker and build things -- it's a lot of fun coming up with new bunny toys and then watching Billy figure out what to do with them.

Casper and Luigi are the last of the 6 avian boys. They are very sweet, gentle, and easy to hold. Would be a great pair of buns for a lucky family. Both are neutered and aprox. 6 months old dwarf mix boys and would love a home together.

Dot is a very fun, inquisitive mini lop girl. She loves to follow you around and see what is going on. She is 2 years old and great with her litterbox.

Tigger is an older white with tan spotted lop mix boy. He was found under a car as a bag of bones with sore hocks and very sad. He has since gained his weight back and he loves being with other bunnies, so would make a great companion bun. He is very mellow and sweet and we are guessing him to be around 4-6 years old.

Kanga and Roo are a super pair of 6 year-old female rex buns. They are perfect with their litterbox. Kanga, the tan girl, has a blind right eye and Roo has a chronic whimper sound when she is stressed or picked up, but neither bun is affected by her special need. Both are very easy to handle and they are a beautiful pair of super soft rex girls.

Abbott is a neutered brown and black Rex about 2 years old. Annika is a spayed white and black Dutch 2 years old. They are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Annika is a love bug who loves attention from humans as well as Abbott. She's very outgoing and active. They spend a lot of their time grooming each other. Abbott is a tease and likes to play the runaway game. He will come to you and then run away tossing his head as he goes, and then he lets you pick him up. He's also very active and curious. They are both easy to hold. Abbot was found running lose on the streets of El Cajon.

Happy is a tiny 1 year old dwarf male bunny who is very friendly but a little wobbly. He is "special" but it doesn't bother him at all. He just runs and hops a little crookedly. He is very easygoing and likes people. He is a happy tiny boy.

Kyle is a very sweet, laidback, and easy to handle angora bunny. He will need regular groomings to maintain his hair. He is 4.5 months old. He currently lives with Crisco and can be adopted as a pair or single.

Scout has the cutest face ever! She's a little explorer, and when she's done playing she does the best flops and lounges around. She liked to chew on a hanging toy I had for her that was made out of yucca. Scout likes to dig all the way to the bottom of her litter box until she's entirely covered by hay and you can't see her anymore. She's friendly and curious, and will always check to see what you're doing. She really enjoys being pet.

Mia is a 5 month-old chocolate dwarf mix female. She is very friendly and gives kisses! She would do great with a bunny boy too as she likes other bunnies.

Zen is generally the most laid-back of the three. He's very social/friendly, and seems to enjoy being held (though he doesn't like being picked up). He likes to spend time inside little "caves" (cardboard box, wicker tunnel). He's also very talented at balancing on top of things -- we had a round wicker tunnel for him that he would sit on top of, and "walk" on it if it started rolling. Zen likes to move his litter box around. He'll always come to see what you're doing.
