Judy Cole of San Diego is an angel for disabled cats. She has taken in dozens of disabled cats over the years, and has modified her home and her life to care for their special needs. Caring for the cats is a full-time job; thanks to the income from her husband's job, and donations from generous people, she has been able to do this work for many years. Unfortunately, due to health problems, her husband is no longer able to work. Money is very tight for them now, and Judy must rely even more on donations to be able to continue the wonderful work she does with these cats.

I have met Judy, visited her home, and know how committed she is to caring for the cats. Listed below is a letter from Judy, as well as pictures & descriptions of some of her cats.

A Note From Judy

Dear Readers, Please take a moment to read my story. 21 lives are in need of help. Due to severe health problems, my husband can no longer work. Our monies for the care of 21 disabled/abused cats is no longer available. I started caring for disabled cats over 25 years ago. Through the years I gradually increased my numbers to 21. These animals are from all over California and the Yuma, Arizona area.
Some calls I receive are turned away. I do all the work, starting at 6 a.m. every day and work until 10 p.m., 7 days a week. I do over 5 loads of wash a day. Photos are shown below of a few of the cats and what has happened to them. My goal is to give quality care. We give each cat a chance to improve. If they are in severe pain or emotionally unable to function, we do the humane thing. Cost is high; many require special diets. We use outdoor carpeting everywhere to allow them to get around better. Because of their disabilities, many require medications and diapers. With your help, I will continue to provide the quality care and TLC they deserve.
